We thank everyone for your continued patience and support as we navigate the impact of Hurricane Milton. We are fortunate and grateful to announce that our entire Vunique Vacations team is safe and accounted for.
We are extremely blessed to be able to report that all of our vacation homes withstood the impact of Hurricane Milton. FPL (Florida Power & Light) and official cleanup crews are boots on the ground in Siesta Key and Lido Key working to re-establish power, water, and gas. Our Vunique Vacations team is also actively working on storm debris cleanup around our homes.
We are optimistic with all of this immediate action that things will progress quickly in terms of re-establishing these services, but until they are successfully restored, it is a waiting game. Once these services are restored, we also want to ensure that our community can successfully support tourism in our area. The last thing that we want is to overwhelm our local establishments during a challenging time. These different pieces, along with the cleanup of our homes will ultimately determine our next arrival date to welcome guests.
We are currently working in two-week increments, and our team is actively contacting anyone who has a reservation through Thursday, October 24 to present their reservation options. We ask that during this time if you have an upcoming reservation, you have patience with us. We want nothing more than to welcome everyone back to the paradise that is Siesta and Lido Key.
Downtown Sarasota already has power established and its restaurants are up and running, offering a refuge for those currently without power. The community itself has bound together and the feeling of mutual support and understanding is palpable. Florida, and particularly the Sarasota area is full of resilient and strong individuals that create an even stronger sense of community.
